Visit of Srimat Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj

We are happy to inform you that Srimat Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj will be visiting Belgaum from 17th to 22nd June 2015. Revered Swamiji is a Senior Trustee of the Ramakrishna Math & Ramakrishna Mission and Head of the Sri Ramakrishna Math, Chennai.

Revered Swamiji will be giving spiritual initiation (mantra diksha) to interested devotees. He will also be available for darshan for devotees and members of the public at the Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama in Fort on these days (at 7:30 pm).

We welcome you to take this opportunity and benefit from the holy presence of Revered Swamiji in Belgaum.

Srimat Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj

Srimat Swami Gautamanandaji Maharaj had the good fortune of coming into contact with Revered Swami Yatiswaranandaji, then Vice-President of Ramakrishna Order in 1951 and was initiated by him in 1955. Joining the Ramakrishna Mission at Delhi, he got his early training under Revered Swami Ranganathanandaji, 13th President of Ramakrishna Order. He was ordained into Sannyas in 1966 by Revered Swami Vireswaranandaji, 10th President of Ramakrishna Order.

He worked among the tribals in Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh and Chattisgarh (Bastar Dist.) for about 20 years. He also worked in the Mission’s Mumbai, Kolkata, Raipur and Narainpur centres. From 1991 he had been in-charge of the Saradapitha, Belur Math, a vast complex of several Educational Colleges and Technical Institutions. He took charge as President (Adhyaksha) of the Ramakrishna Math, Chennai, in April 1995.

Proficient in English, Sanskrit, Hindi, Kannada, Tamil and Bengali, Revered Swamiji speaks and writes on Ramakrishna-Vivekananda Philosophy and on Indian culture. He has travelled widely within and outside India to preach Vedanta, visiting U.S.A., Europe, South Africa and many East Asian countries.
